NORDSTROM CAFE: GRILLED CHEESE & TOMATO SOUP

You can never go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup, no matter how old you are. I have found a hidden gem that is doing this dish right. It is found on the kids menu at Nordstrom Cafe Ala Moana. Yes you read that right, the kids menu. Nordstrom Cafe is a cafeteria style restaurant where all of its options are visually displayed except for the kids menu. So you can see why not many people know about this amazing dish and honestly, what adult would even think to look at the kids menu as an option. But believe me, it is worth a try. 

This dish comes with a grilled cheese sandwich on Sourdough bread made panini style, a cup of their signature Roma Tomato Basil Soup, fresh fruit and a drink all for $6.25. The Tomato Soup is to die for and is perfect for dipping grilled cheese. It is a must have anytime you visit Nordstrom Cafe. My mom and I eat this meal at least once a month because it is that good. She being in her 40s and me in my 20s should be proof enough that this meal is definitely not only for kids. 

Three Tips:

1. You can substitute the Tomato Soup for the Soup of the day (free of charge).
2. Instead of having the fountain drink that comes with the meal, request the plantation iced tea. It's worth it, trust me (free of charge as well).
3. At the end of your meal, ask for a To-Go cup to take home some of the plantation iced tea or whatever fountain drink you chose.
