SANTA MONICA

Growing up, everything was Disney Disney Disney so I never really explored what SoCal has to offer. But this trip I finally made it down to Santa Monica. I would always see Santa Monica Pier in movies or tabloids but I finally got the opportunity to see it for myself. And from what I saw, it was amazing.

Since we got a late start on the day, we had a early lunch late breakfast at Urth Caffe. Trust me when I say the food here is amazing. It is a very quaint coffee cafe that also has tea, pastries and delicious food. Everything is light and organic with great bold flavors. I am a sucker for cute cafes and the fact that everything is organic and healthy is a plus.

I had an organic blended green tea boba that had great flavor. The saddest part is I can never find something this delicious (and healthy) when I come back home. I also had organic Belgian waffles that was light and fluffy. My little sister claims it was the best waffle she has ever tasted and I would have to agree.

The D'Lox Pizza is just like a Lox with salmon, cream cheese, capers all on top of a pizza. This was organic as well with amazing flavors. My sister is crazy about her Lox so she fell in love with this pizza immediately.

My mom and sister shared a Chicken Pesto sandwich and Kale soup, which was as good as it looks.

The best part about Urth Caffe is that after you are done eating your meal you never have that gross feeling after. You all know what feeling I am talking about. I highly recommend Urth Caffe to anyone living or visiting Southern California, you won't regret it.

Next on the agenda was Santa Monica Pier. We decided to walk the mile to the pier instead of driving because we needed the exercise after a big meal. It was a beautiful walk along the beach although it was extremely windy. But a little wind never hurt anyone. Santa Monica pier was a very happening place with all of it's restaurants and rides. It seems like a great place to hang out on the weekends with friends and family.

Since shopping is one of my guilty hobbies, I had to check out third street promenade. It is a street that no cars can go through and is filled with shops. My favorites were Urban Outfitters and Brandy Melville. This street got a lot of foot traffic by trendy Cali girls and boys looking for amazing finds.

Last on our Santa Monica adventure was Beachy Cream. It is a small organic ice cream shop that specializes in Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches. I got the molasses cookie with candied ginger ice cream, which was unique but delicious. Everything had such great flavor and tasted like a lot of work was put into these creations. My sisters and mom stuck to more traditional flavors. This would normally be a very guilty treat but since it was organic it took the guilt away.
