One of the hottest trends in the baby world is Gender Reveal Parties. It is exactly what the name suggests. It is a party where expecting mommies and daddies reveal the gender of the baby.
There are many ways of doing this. There is first the ever so popular balloon reveal. This is when a box is filled with pink or blue balloons and when it is opened family and friends can visually see what the gender is. Another popular method is cutting the cake. This is when the interior of the cake is blue or pink and when the expecting parents cut it, the color will convey what the gender is.
My boyfriends sister did a twist on the balloon reveal. She and her boyfriend had the doctor put the ultrasound in an envelope and they gave that to a balloon company so they could be surprised as well. The box was filled with blue and pink balloons so when they opened it they would all fly out. But there was one black balloon that was filled with either pink or blue confetti. When they both popped the balloon, blue confetti flew out revealing that the baby was going to be a boy. They asked their guest to guess what the gender would be by wearing pink or blue. As you can see, I was on team pink but I was sadly wrong. I did want them to have a girl but I am overjoyed on their baby boy.
This was my first time going to a gender reveal party and I have to say it was a lot of fun. It is a great way for all your loved ones to get together and share great memories with the expecting parents in their journey to parenthood. I flew to Kauai for this event and it was worth it. The food was amazing and the company was even better. Congrats to these two parents to be.
