AIRPORT FIASCO

My sister Lindsey and I had to travel 3,857 miles to watch my little sister Leiana's Junior Olympics Volleyball Tournament in Minneapolis. It is definitely a journey and a half especially when flying standby. Standby has many perks and downfalls. A major downfall is that you never know if you are going to get on a flight, which will definitely give you a couple of grey hairs. So we got to LA easily on Hawaiian Airlines but since Hawaiian doesn't go to Minnesota directly we had to go on another airlines. We ended up getting rejected from 3 different flights, traveling to 3 different cities, going through 7 different terminals, traveling on 3 different airlines and traveling for a total of 24 hours but we finally made it to Minnesota.

The best part about this whole ordeal was that my sister and I had a lovely breakfast at Lemonade LA while waiting between flights. Lemonade offers Southern California seasonal comfort food in a fast food cafeteria style setting. I love this concept and the food is to die for. Everything is fresh, has great flavor and is definitely satisfying. Since it was 8 am, we got breakfast. There was a generous selection of different breakfast dishes but I got Cinnamon French Toast Bread Pudding and my sister had Farmer's skillet. Both dishes came with potatoes for $8. We also got their signature lemonades (hence the name), which they are known for. I got the Blueberry Mint Lemonade and my sister got the Watermelon Rosemary. If you are ever in Southern California (or LAX) go to Lemonade, you won't regret it. Especially if you like fresh, organic comfort food like me.
