On this beautiful Sunday morning I made the drive out to Kailua to have Sunday brunch with one of my best friends, Kealohi. After contemplating when we were going to get together and what we should do, we both decided on breakfast at Cinnamons. And what a great choice that was. Cinnamons is a Kailua favorite that serves up breakfast and lunch, seven days a week. This restaurant opened in the eighties and has been a local favorite ever since. Cinnamons is located in Kailua Square and normally always has a wait for a table. So try to get their early or don't go during peak times. It is no surprise that there is a wait since it has won many awards for best breakfast, best pancakes, etc.
After some much needed girl talk, we were finally seated. Kealohi and I decided to be a bit adventurous and stray from our normal Red Velvet and Guava Chiffon pancakes and try the Carrot Pancakes instead. I know what you're thinking, Carrot pancakes? Are you serious? But trust me, they were delicious. It is a lot less sweet than other pancakes on the menu, which I didn't mind. The pancakes come with cream cheese frosting, which is a nice sweet touch. And not to mention they smell amazing. It is definitely worth a try and I would order them again. But I realize it isn't for everyone. I mean I know for fact, my Micah would never order this. But hey, that's why you have girlfriends. This was a great morning with my best friend and some delicious pancakes. What more can I ask for?
