VIA GELATO

Melissa Bow, a former Punahou graduate opened Via Gelato's first shop in Kaimuki a couple months ago. Before opening this Kaimuki location, Via Gelato is seen all around town in their food truck. It is not everyday that a woman switches career fields from Physical Therapist to Gelato chef, but thank goodness Melissa did. Via Gelato uses all local ingredients to make it's local inspired flavors. There are never the same flavors two days in a row so you will always be able to try something new. Via Gelato is constantly changing up their flavors based on what their customers recommend. Now that's service.

When first walking into their shop I instantly fell in love. Not only are the workers sweet and helpful, but the environment is very rustic and homey. It reminds me of a charming country inspired shop I would find somewhere in Oregon. This is a place you wouldn't mind doing some homework or catching up with a girlfriend while enjoying a scoop of gelato.

There are many flavors to choose from such as Black Sesame Seed, Green Tea, Cinnamon Bun, etc. They make unique flavors but they are all hand crafted to perfection. It has a light consistency and it melts in your mouth. It is between $3-$5 for a cup and you can have multiple flavors with no extra charge. I tried the nutter butter and green tea. It was exceptionally good. After one visit I am hooked.
